The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) provides essential social security benefits to employees. If your business falls under the ESI Act, 1948, you must register with ESIC to ensure compliance and offer employees medical and financial security. Who Needs to Register for ESIC?

ESIC Registration is Mandatory for:

  • Factories & establishments with 10 or more employees.
  • Employees earning ₹21,000 or less per month (₹25,000 for disabled employees)

 

Exemptions: Employers with fewer than the minimum employees are not required to register.

 

 

Step-by-Step ESIC Registration Process for Employers

Visit the ESIC Portal

  • Go to the ESIC official website: www.esic.gov.in
  • Click on “Employer Login” → Select “Sign Up” for new registration.

Fill Out Employer Details

  • Enter Company Name, PAN, Address, and Contact Information.
  • Create login credentials and verify via OTP.

Log in & Complete Registration

  • Log in with your credentials and select “New Employer Registration”.
  • Choose “Factory” or “Establishment” based on your business type.
  • Provide details: Business Type, Date of Setup, and No. of Employees.

Provide Employee & Wage Details

  • Enter employee names, Aadhaar details, salaries, and UAN (if applicable).
  •  Upload documents like address proof, PAN, and bank details.

Submit Registration Fee & Generate Code

  • Pay the initial contribution online.
  • Once approved, the ESIC generates a 17-digit employer code number.
  •  Download the ESIC Registration Certificate for records.

Registration Complete! You must now file monthly ESIC contributions.
